Mid-Autumn Festival——A day of family reunion

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a traditional Chinese festival,it originated from ancient worship of the moon. As early as the Zhou Dynasty, emperors held rituals to offer sacrifices to the moon at autumn equinox, to thank the gods for a good harvest. The term "Mid-Autumn" was first recorded in The Rites of Zhou.

In the Tang Dynasty, the festival was fixed on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month. Appreciating the full moon became popular among people, together with legends like Chang'e flying to the moon. During the Song Dynasty, celebrations flourished nationwide, and customs such as eating mooncakes and family reunion took shape. In the Ming and Qing dynasties, it developed into one of China’s four great traditional festivals.

On this day, the children who have gone out to work or study will actively return home, join their families in preparing a sumptuous dinner, enjoying mooncakes and watching the moon together. At the same time, they will also participate in lantern festivals and lantern riddles guessing at some amusement parks, giving their bodies and minds a wonderful vacation.
